New webcast/podcast service for university presentations


The University Channel has just been launched in the US and will provide access to a broad range of video and audio content. The idea is that guest lectures, discussions and seminars will be hosted online for open access by the wider public. In addition, broadcast quality versions of some of the sessions will be provided for cable TV stations. At the moment, the numbers of lectures are pretty small, but given that more and more universities are now routinely webcasting such events, there should be a fairly rapid growth.
