The Times Higher has an amusing article by an "anonymous" academic responding to the "Rate My Professor" website with a rival at http://rateyourstudents.blogspot.com ! Frank Furedi in his usually ascerbic column continues the argument by criticising the UK's National Student Satisfaction Survey, which itself has come under sustained attack from students' unions in various institutions, including some who have requested students to mark their university with the highest grades for every category to ensure that they retain funding and support.

In the same edition, Derek Bok of Harvard presents the case for a more "experimental" approach to teaching and learning in order to straddle the research - teaching gap.
