Open Knowledge Resources

In keeping with the spirit of our endorsement of Creative Commons in a number of previous publications, we have just sent off to the printers a new book on "The Challenge of eCompetence in Academic Staff Development." The individual chapters are available at http://www.ecompetence.info/index.php?id=93 The book focuses on the issue of developing institutional strategies for the the training and professional updating of academic staff in the area of e-learning and ICT in education. It spans a wide number of institutions across Europe (plus one in South Africa) and may be of interest to those working in the field. Printed copies of the book will be available soon, but feel free to download individual chapters under our licence terms.

As an introduction to the basic sharing concept read Thomas Pfeffer's article entitled "Open Knowledge Resources in Higher Education: Scholarly Publications, Course Materials & Software."
