the cost of plagiarism detection

In common with many other institutions in Ireland (and of course beyond) we have now taken out a licence for the Turnitin plagiarism detection software, so it was interesting to read in the latest version of the Chronicle of Higher Education that at least one college in the US is going to withdraw due to cost. The University of Kansas is feeling priced out of the approach and is looking into possible alternatives.
