An African Scientific Renaissance?

Cosmologists, whether observational (like me) or theoretical, get up to all sorts of things in their spare time whilst pondering the universe's origins. Few however have been so successful and driven in their pursuits (in both domains) as Neil Turok who has set up a new higher education institution in South Africa and who was invited to deliver his "wish" to the TED conference which awarded him a TED prize this year.
