New National Strategy to Advance Ireland's Knowledge Economy

The government, as was expected, today finally unveiled the new National Strategy for research, particularly in areas of Science and technology, with a commitment to spend some 3.8billion in the next 6 years. Clearly this is to be welcomed and will have a significant impact across the sector, with general targets to double the number of PhD students, improve facilities, etc.
