All busy here with work, but time for some brief items:
(1) In Ontario, there's an interesting TV show which aims to identifty the province's best university lecturer, as reported in this week's Times Higher. Videos of the main contenders can be viewed here.
(2) The University of Limerick this week announced its new President, Professor Don Barry, a statistician (is there a theme emerging here, with a statistician also President of NUI Galway? what is the probability of any two of the 7 university Presidents being statisticians- discuss!)
(3) The Higher Education Authority, here in Ireland has opened its call for PRTLI Cycle 4, offering 190 million Euros of funding for research projects and institutions ae busily drafting up their proposals.
(4) One of the really best videos on You Tube is from Michael Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University all about new trends on the Web. You really should watch it!
