I also had a chance to speak with Prof. Wim van Petegem of K.U. Leuven (Belgium) about some of the work that he and the Coimbra group have been involved with in terms of "virtual mobility," which includes aspects of providing e-support to students on European exchange programmes. In addition, Wim (who is the Director of AVNet) briefly explains Leuven's institutional teaching philosophy of "guided independent learning."
